On Tuesday, November 13, 2007 Chamah presented its 20th Annual Gala Dinner Reception. The event was held at the beautiful “Museum of Jewish Heritage-A Living Memorial to the Holocaust” located in Battery Park and overlooking the majestic setting of the Statue of Liberty in lower Manhattan.
The Dinner was chaired by Sima & Elia Feldsher. Comedian and multi- talented performer Reuven Russell served as Master of Ceremonies.
Following an elegant Dinner the guests were treated to an orchestra of young talented violinists.
Among the honored guests were Oliver and Elizabeth Stanton who received a well deserved “Distinguished Couple of the Year Award”. Oliver is the esteemed International Vice Chairman of Chamah.
Rabbi Yechiel Eckstein, President and Founder of IFCJ and a dear friend of Chamah, accepted, along with his lovely family a “Nachas Award” on behalf of his parents Dr. and Mrs. Simon and Belle Eckstein who reside in Florida.
The Special Guest Speaker was Mr. Yuli Edelstein, Deputy Speaker of the Knesset and MK who came especially to New York to join Chamah and greet the guests at this gala event.
A special guest appearance was made by Major General and Mrs. Grigory Kroshner who arrived from Moscow together with Chamah Executive Director in Moscow, Dr. Greta Elinson.
The proceeds of this Gala Dinner Event will help provide food for hungry and needy children from impoverished families in Israel.
