The Chamah Organization in Moscow attends to about 600 children ages 5-16 suffering from chronic diseases. The children are from needy families; dysfunctional, single parent, poverty stricken etc. Chamah assists with purchasing of various types of medical equipment, such as insulin pumps, blood glucose monitors, orthopedic shoes, wheelchairs, medicines, glasses, hearing aids, and more. Children receive personal hygiene products, food packages, warm winter clothing, etc. Chamah volunteers do home visits, childcare, trips, visits to museums, plays, etc. The project provides the children with the opportunity to develop and integrate into the schools and society of ordinary children their age. The project provides opportunities for joy life that every child in the world deserves.
Chamah operates a Center for Child Development on its campus with a yard and garden for 250 children, which provides individual assistance by doctors, nurses, physiotherapists, and professional instructors, and is carried out by a professional team and volunteers who specialize in caring for special children. Chamah runs rehabilitation programs for children, such as physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, art-therapy, animal therapy, salt cave providing halotherapy and more. Nutritious meals are prepared on premises and are served to the children.
Chamah provides transportation services in a special vehicle for children with disabilities.
The CCCD runs workshops for parents (or relatives) who receive training and assistance in coping with education and behavior with special children and the effective way to help them function.
Chamah operates the project in full coordination with the social department of the Moscow municipality, the JDC and directed by experts outside of Russia.
