Jonathan has a mother and an older brother. Jonathan's mother is disabled. The family lives off an income of two pensions – mother and son.
The boy has a severe disease - Ehlers-Danlos' [cutis hyperelastica] syndrome. It is a heavy genetic disease. He can’t stay or sit for more than half an hour. It is even a problem to go out. Gan Chamah developed a special schedule of study for him including Math, Russian, Literature, Hebrew, Tradition and computer studies. Special equipment was bought easing his life and study. In addition to the domestic education, Jonathan participated in several of the Gan Chamah activities –celebrating Jewish holidays together with healthy children. Jonathan is a very talented boy – he writes short stories. Lessons on Russian language and literature greatly assisted him. From 2007 till 2009 Jonathan took part in the Competition for young journalists of Russia. Each time he won the Grand Prix. In 2008 he was the only child to become a Member of International Association of writers and journalists. In 2011 he received a public award – the Order of “Cheroit Star – a young talent of Russia”.
Today, Jonathan is the author of 21 publications. We remember him as a small boy who came to the Chamah community and said that his great wish is to become a Rabbi.
