New Jewish Home for Children in Moscow

Chamah celebrated the opening of an additional Center for Child Development in central Moscow. The Center gives challenged children between the ages 5 and 15 a warm haven providing education, various therapies and support to their families. The CCCD is supported by the IFCJ headed by Rabbi Yechiel Eckstein.

Chamah held a special celebration saluting the volunteers of Chamah. Approximately 300 volunteers help in attending to the 20,000 needy elderly beneficiaries of Chamah. The volunteers are seniors who themselves have recently retired. In line with the concept of being active to keep young, the volunteers eagerly help out and are most appreciated by the needy elderly and the Chamah staff.

Chamah Camps Ends With A Smile

Chamah summer program in New York has completed another successful year with lessons and experiences sure to last for a long time. Between the dedicated counselors, trips, sports and swimming, the kids had a most enjoyable summer vacation.

Leaders of Jewish Communities of Australia visited the Chamah Humanitarian Center, Moscow. Given a hands on opportunity to help, they were duly impressed with the work of Chamah giving humanitarian assistance to the needy elderly.

Forum of Associations Held in Moscow

A forum of major associations in Moscow giving humanitarian assistance to the needy elderly was held at the local municipality. Amongst the organizations, Chamah was prominently noted for its dedication and efficiency on behalf of tens of thousands of needy seniors. The event was covered by the media.

Student Delegation Visits Chamah Moscow

A student delegation from the United States on a voluntary mission visited the Humanitarian Center, Moscow. President of Chamah Mrs. Greta Elinson gave them an overview of the history and work of Chamah including nourishment support programs, medical and social assistance etc. The students were given a hands on experience in lending support to the elderly.

Chamah Otradnoye Inaugurates New Mikveh

The Chamah Jewish Community Center Otradnoye is proud to inaugurate its brand new beautiful Mikveh – ritual pool. Attending the opening ceremony was Chief Rabbi to Russia Rabbi Beryl Lazar, government officials, Head Rabbi of Otradnoye Rabbi David Karpov and many prominent guests.

Chamah Kiryat Malachi Institutes Cultural Center for the Elderly

Chamah Kiryat Malachi is proud to inaugurate its Cultural Center for the Russian speaking population. The Cultural Center offers its members a place to get together, utilize the computers, library, coffee/tea corner, all in a warm atmosphere. Gym classes are also held on a weekly basis.

Miami Mega Mission to Israel

Thousands of kilos of Matzot were distributed throughout Moscow in a joint effort between Chamah and the IFCJ. Amongst the grateful recipients were the elderly and lonely who Chamah has not forgotten.

A special training course was given at the Gan Chamah for parents and their children as well as professionals working with special children. The course was enlightening giving helpful insights and practical advice for the unique needs of special children.

Purim Festivity at Chamah Moscow

Chamah beneficiaries enjoyed the Purim celebration! Parents and children dressed up for the joyous holiday. The program included a festive meal, lively entertainment, reading of the "Book of Ester" and of course delicious "Hamentashen".

To say it was a success is an understatement; trying to describe the beauty and inspiration with words is nearly impossible.

Warmth and happiness were keenly felt at the Chanukah celebrations held at the Chamah campus in Kiryat Malachi. Russian Olim and their families still marvel at the grand Menorah, a symbol of the Jewish nation bringing light and kindness to all.
