Children at the CCCD performed a musical play in honor of the hero Janusz Korczak. Janusz founded an orphanage pre WWII and with the onset of the war, his institution was forced to move to the Warsaw ghetto. Although Korczak was given the privliege of shelter on the ally side, he chose to stay with his children till his very last day.

Specially trained teachers and speech therapists deliver a course at the CCCD on acquiring speech. Various techniques such as PEKS cards, table games and more help the children develop communication skills.

The XI International Competition of Children's Fine Art "Sea and Children" accepted over three thousand works from all over the world for consideration! Finalists are involved at the art program at the CCCD. Congratulations to four of our finalists and to our art studio teacher!

As every year, for the upcoming Pesach holiday, Chamah in Russia distributed food packages, wine and Matzah to its beneficiaries; needy elderly who enjoy the programs of Chamah. Many received the package by home delivery.
This year's distribution is dedicated in loving memory of Founder and dynamic late President of the IFCJ, Rabbi Yechiel Eckstein, obm.

Chamah affiliated with the Ashkelon Academic College enabling young women to study practical engineering in the fields of architect and digital graphics. The program provides young women an opportunity to earn a diploma in sought after fields of employment.

The presentation of a new book, by Leonid Terushkin, on Holocaust survivors of Sobibor was held at Chamah. Material is preceded from research from Russia, Holland and Israel.

Chamah celebrated its tenth annual Russian Shabbaton, in which close to 2,000 people joyfully attended. This year a special event took place; beginning the writing of a Sefer Torah in honor of Rabbi Yechiel Eckstein, obm. This Torah, l'iluy nishmato, will G-d willing, live for hundreds of years and be read by thousands of Jews for generations to come and will surely bring much gratification to his soul.

We are deeply shocked and profoundly sad to learn of the sudden passing away of Rabbi Yechiel Eckstein, Founder and President of the IFCJ. Tens of thousands of our beneficiaries mourn this tremendous loss, a great man with a great heart, a true friend who has helped millions of Jewish children, elderly people and those in need. We pray for Rabbi Eckstein's family and those at the Fellowship. HaMakom Yenachem Etchem B'toch Sha'arei Tzion V'Yerushalayim.

Chamah beneficiaries and staff members took part in International Holocaust Remembrance Day Campaign - WE REMEMBER. Six candles were lit in honor of six million Jews who were murdered under the cruel Nazi regime. Survivors shared their stories of loved ones, may their souls rest in peace.

Chamah representatives joyfully attended Maya's 95th birthday celebration held at her home! Although she cannot walk this does not diminish from her emotional and intellectual vitality. She is one of the many elderly who benefit from the programs of Chamah providing homecare assistance, cooked meals, food packages and more. For close to 30 years, Chamah Moscow has been providing humanitarian assistance giving life and dignity to a million people.

Chamah will be hosting its 10th Annual National Russian Shabbaton on Presidents Day Weekend, February 15, 2019. With over 1,000 participants from across fourteen states, Canada, and Russia, it has become the single largest event uniting the Russian Jewish Community in the United States.

Seniors and veterans were treated to a beautiful trip to Jerusalem which included prayer at the Western Wall and two museums; "Friends of Zion" and the Hebrew Music Museum.

As man is likened to a tree, and the 15th of Shvat marks the New Year for trees, we are given an opportunity to celebrate our renewal. Children of Olim at the Chamah Center in Kiryat Malachi enjoy artistic fruit craft.
